Toronto Clothing Repairathon is excited to participate at the St. Lawrence Market Community Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Our team of crafty volunteers will be onsite fixing and mending clothes for free on the east side of Market Street (in between Front Street and The Esplanade).

Has your favourite shirt developed a hole or a ripped seam? Jeans that have worn out? Whatever the reason, we’ll repair it so it can live and be loved for longe! If you’d like to learn how to do repairs, we’ll will be happy to show you and help you mend your clothes.

First comefirst served. Maximum two items per person to ensure we help as many people as possible. And keep in mind, that we don’t do alterations, just repairs.

As a volunteer-driven group, we’re always looking for sewers of all skill levels. We’re a friendly and fun group who loves sharing our skills and giving back to the community. Wanna join our team? Please sign up at app.repairathon.com to receive notifications about upcoming events.

I’d like to repair my mom’s light nylon coat that’s got ripped elbows from wear n’tear, but have no ‘scrap’ leather/durable fabric to stitch/cover rip, and unsure if this idea will last long or look good as she has OCD, and I’ve no sewing machine to do nice stitching. *Can you reco gd-cheap portable sew mach?
Also, got knitted sweater that got unravelled so since I’ve matching thread not yarn, want 2salvage it but don’t knit=left all in bag4later so any solutions for sweater please. Thanks 🙂
