Repairathon April 23 at the Toronto Zoo

Toronto Clothing Repairathon is back for a 2017 full of mending, sewing and more. We’re excited to kick off the year with an wild event at the Toronto Zoo!
Join us on Sunday, April 23 at the Toronto Zoo’s Education Auditorium, where we’ll be repairing clothing items for free from noon till 2 p.m. Please bring a maximum of two items per person, please.

Want to learn how to repair your own clothes? We’ll also be running a free workshop on Mending Tips and Tricks at the Wild Connections Tent (beside the panda exhibit) from 3 to 4 p.m. Join us and learn some basic mending skills including how to sew up a fallen hem, reattaching a button and repairing small holes and tears. If you have any items in need of repair, bring them along to practice on.

We’re excited to get sewing this season. If you are a community group or organization who would like to host us, please get in touch. We’re planning our 2017 season now and would love to hold repairathons in different neighbourhoods across the city.

We are a volunteer-driven group and are always looking for volunteers at all skill levels to join us at events. We’re a friendly and fun group who loves sharing our skills and giving back to the community. Love to help out? Please sign up at app.repairathon.com to hear about upcoming events all summer long.

Also, don’t miss any of our events! Join our Google Group to stay updated on all our upcoming repairathons.

Happy mending!
