Toronto Clothing Repairathon is excited to host an event at St. Lawrence Market on Saturday, March 10. Volunteers will be fixing and mending clothes for free in the South Building, as part of the St. Lawrence Market Farmers’ Market. Find us in the tent behind the main market building at 125 The Esplanade on Saturday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., where we’ll be fixing clothing for free.
Bring those holey sweaters, ripped jeans and shirts missing a button and volunteers will do their best to repair them. If you’d like to learn how to do repairs, volunteers will be happy to show you and help you mend your clothes.
Maximum two items per person to ensure we help as many people as possible. And keep in mind, that we don’t do alterations, just repairs. Zipper replacements may not be possible at every event as we are dependant on the skill levels of the volunteers that day, and the time available to complete the repair.
As a volunteer-driven group, we’re always looking for sewers of all skill levels. We’re a friendly and fun group who loves sharing our skills and giving back to the community. Love to help out? Please sign up at app.repairathon.com to hear about upcoming events throughout 2018.
Can’t make it? We’re finalizing the details for our next event in April with the Toronto Public Library, which will be announced soon. Stay tuned for more details.
